Music brings joy to our little kids. Teaching music for little children is my passion, especially really young age 3-5 years old. They are natural to play cello or violin if we give them the right size and fun songs to play. Start early so we can hear their daily stories coming from their heart. If we do it right, it is guaranteed that not only the early childhood music education will be successful for your kids but also music will stay for long time. Give them music which they can cherish for their lives. Contact me 917-349-5477 or textchoi@gmail.com for any questions or inquiries.
Rosining the bow is a good time to reminding the proper bow group. I let them count with any language they know to count to 10-20. They love to show off and I learn a lot!
Every lesson, we start with C, G and D 1 octave scale with slow bow exercise warm up.
Dirty Doggie Scrub Scrub is four fast sixteen notes and two eighth notes pattern. This allows the student to be familiar with the short bow stroke and enjoying the story of a dirty doggie taking a shower! Super fun.
I teach about 12 open string bow hold songs: 1, 2 buckle my shoe is one of their favorites. I teach bow hold songs for about two month. Each lesson, they learn three song for one month ( 4 lessons).
Another open string bow exercise song “ Eanie Mieni Minie Mo”
My students like to create their own song depends on their mood on that day. I love it! Teaching young kids makes my day brighter.
Little kids love Solfege system on fingerings. I only use it when I introduce left hand fingerings. Reading notation starts from the first day. They see reading notes as picture clue and matching game.
