Excited to start LFA at Beacon! LFA is perfectly for designed to teach violins or cellos for young children age 3-5 years. Choi Fairbanks created this program after she taught young children from Chocachatti Elementary Suzuki String School and served as Powell Performing Arts middle school orchestra director in Florida and NYC. Little Fiddlers Adventure program uses a joyfully unique method which is Dr. Suzuki’s kids’ eye view approach and Dr. Shirley Givens’ kids friendly method. In this group class, kids will use percussion instruments to learn the bow movement and learning the rhythm for each song, incorporates with movement class for busy mind, analyzing famous classical piece by dividing as group for each section using different percussion instruments, it all comes down to “how to make the students to fall in love with each day’s songs.

Each year has four semester , each semester is 8 weeks long, so the first year is a 32 weeks-long.

Registration is open all year around.

  • 1st semester is 8 weeks ; PIZZ party! : learning part names, holding the instrument, plucking each strings with 15 songs by heart

  • 2nd semester is 8 weeks ; LET’s hold the BOW! : learning bow hold, playing open string with 15 songs by heart

  • 3rd semester is 8 weeks ; DO-RE-MI : learning left hand (making melodies) with pizz. and then plucking

  • 4th semester is 8 weeks ; DO-RE-MI-FA-SO : meet SUZUKI songs!
